Notice of Planned Road Closure: Arnold Crescent
Arnold Crescent, Highland Lane and Elizabeth Street Road Reconstruction
Arnold Crescent, between Major Mackenzie Drive and Elizabeth Street South, will be closed to through traffic starting April 13, 2026 until the end of the year (see map). This closure is required to safely complete major infrastructure upgrades, including watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and roadway improvements.
Due to extensive excavation and construction activities, road closure is necessary to protect public safety and allow the work to be completed efficiently.
Traffic and Resident Impacts
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
- Local access will be permitted for residents within the closure limits.
- All other traffic will be detoured using Major Mackenzie Drive, Elizabeth Street, Centre Street, Yonge Street, and open sections of Arnold Crescent.
Residents and motorists should expect changes to travel routes and possible delays during construction. The City is working closely with its contractor to minimize disruption and complete the work as safely and efficiently as possible.
