Notice of Study Commencement: Don Head East Stormwater Pond and Valleyland Rehabilitation Environmental Assessment
The City of Richmond Hill is undertaking the Don Head East Stormwater Pond and Valleyland Rehabilitation Environmental Assessment (“Study”) to determine the best means of rehabilitating the Don Head East Stormwater Management Pond, stream erosion sites and to assess maintenance improvements for the adjacent Pioneer Park Stormwater Management Pond.
The study area is shown in the map (left), and is situated along the North Richvale Greenway system. The study will evaluate a range of alternatives to determine the best rehabilitation solution to improve water quality, erosion and prevent flooding in the area.
The study is being conducted in accordance with Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.
To facilitate community input, a Public Open House will be held later in 2021. The notice of the open house will be mailed to homes in the nearby neighbourhood, and information will also be available at RichmondHill.ca/DonHeadEast.
Should you have any questions or comments, require further information, or wish to be added to the study mailing list for future updates, please contact one of the Study Team members:
