RICHMOND HILL – Richmond Hill’s City Clerk has certified the candidates running in the 2026 Municipal Elections following the close of nominations. The list is available at RichmondHill.ca/RHVotes.

Elected by Acclamation

The City Clerk has declared the following school board trustees to have been elected by acclamation:

• Joseph Dimeo, York Catholic District School Board
• Maria Iafrate, York Catholic District School Board

Online Voting begins October 20, and Voting Day is October 26, 2026. Eligible voters will elect a Mayor, Regional and Local Councillors, Ward Councillors and School Board Trustees. The next term of Council begins November 15, 2026, and ends November 14, 2030.

Who can vote?

To be eligible to vote you must be:

• a Canadian citizen;
• at least 18 years of age on or before Voting Day (October 26, 2026);
• a resident, owner or tenant of land in the City of Richmond Hill, or the spouse of such tenant or owner; and
• not otherwise prohibited by law from voting.

Information about qualifications for voting for School Board Trustees is available on the City’s website. Owners or tenants of multiple properties in Richmond Hill are required to vote in the Ward in which they reside. It is illegal to vote more than once.

Vote online or in-person

Richmond Hill is offering the choice to vote in-person or online. Online voting will be available from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.

In-person voting by paper ballot is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026 as well as 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Voting Day, Monday, October 26.

Instructions for voting online or in person will be mailed to all eligible voters on the Voters’ List before the voting period begins. This Voter Information Package will include a list of the seven Vote Centre locations, as well as the unique Voter ID and PIN required to vote online.
