Community Artwork Made Possible Thanks to Federal Grant

RICHMOND HILL – Yesterday, Richmond Hill celebrated the work of 13 local artists who created the City’s 150th anniversary mural paintings, captured on Bell Boxes and storage bunkers throughout the community. The largest mural was painted over a two-week period and is featured on an outside wall at the Richmond Green Sports Centre.

The City received $26,900 in funding from the Government of Canada’s Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program, Community Historical Anniversaries Programming Component, administered by the Department of Canadian Heritage. These funds have supported the City’s delivery of various RH150 activities throughout 2023, including the local art installations celebrated yesterday. 

Thank you to the selected artists involved for capturing a sense of social connectivity and community pride: Chris Perez, Joaquin Varela, Phoebe Lau, Sheryln Hu, Monica Pramanick, Sarah Alinia Ziazi, Natasha Pelley-Smith, Jing Fu, Ruth Toy, Eduardo Diaz Ocampo, Gloria Hope, Robin Hesse and Ghazaleh Rastgar.
