RICHMOND HILL – Richmond Hill is taking steps toward becoming an age-friendly community, so everyone can participate and feel included in city life. The City is now accepting applications for members to join Richmond Hill’s first-ever Age-Friendly Community Council.
In 2021, the City held community consultations to help identify issues facing the aging population in our community. Richmond Hill Council received the Age-Friendly Community Needs Assessment in May 2022, supporting the establishment of an Age-Friendly Community Council to help create the goals and recommendations for an Age-Friendly Community Strategy.
Apply to Join
The Age-Friendly Community Council will consist of Richmond Hill residents aged 55+, as well as representatives from local businesses and community organizations that serve older adults in Richmond Hill. All members will participate for a two-year term, with meetings held three times a year.
Application forms are available online at RichmondHill.ca/AgeFriendly and in the Office of the Clerk at the main Municipal Offices, 225 East Beaver Creek Road. Deadline for submission is 4 p.m. on December 7, 2022.
