Richmond Hill – Richmond Hill is entering the next phase of the comprehensive review of all the City’s in-force Zoning By-laws, with the goal of consolidating them into a single Zoning By-law.
The objective is to develop one Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the City that is:
Zoning By-laws affect everyone and all properties in the City. They regulate land use, including where buildings (e.g. houses and offices) and other structures (e.g. sheds and cabanas) can be located, what size they can be and how they may be used.

The Comprehensive Zoning By-law project is one of several City initiatives, occurring at the same time as the Official Plan Update, to develop tools for implementing the policies of the City’s Official Plan.
