Richmond Hill Wins FEO’s 2019 Municipality of the Year Award 

RICHMOND HILL – For the second year in a row, Richmond Hill received the Municipality of the Year Award in the “over 150,000 population” category. Richmond Hill’s Canada Day celebrations and Ribfest also won the Top 100 Festivals and Events Ontario awards.

The awards were presented at the annual Festivals and Events Conference held in Richmond Hill. These awards acknowledge the finest municipalities in Ontario in terms of leadership and civic partnerships.

We look forward to welcoming the community again this year at some of Richmond Hill’s largest and most popular festivals and events, including Canada Day Celebrations (July 1), Ribfest (July 24 – 26), Santa Claus Parade (November 14) and First Night (December 31).

• The Canada Day celebration is Richmond Hill’s largest, single day festival that attracted 20,000 people from York Region and the GTA in 2019.
• Ribfest, one of Richmond Hill’s most popular festivals, is a three-day outdoor event featuring professional rib teams travelling to Richmond Hill from across North America. Last year’s festival attracted more than 25,000 patrons.
• Richmond Hill has been recognized by FEO for our events since 2014.
