Richmond Hill’s MedEdge 2.0 -- a Platform for Collaboration and Innovation

One of the key life science events of the year, MedEdge 2.0, was a resounding success. This year's participants experienced a more intimate event in order to facilitate meaningful connections and to fulfill the theme of "Finding Partners, Building Connections and Making Sales.”
Over 150 industry professionals made up of health and life science companies, entrepreneurs, investors, government agencies, hospital representatives and key partners in Ontario's health sector participated in a day of networking and learning opportunities.
Keynote speaker Huda Idrees, Founder and CEO of Dot Health, presented her innovative approach to utilizing personal health data and its impact on healthcare. An expert panel featuring companies who have successful sold into other Canadian provinces, imparted their knowledge and strategies to become successful in these competitive markets.
The roundtable discussions were invaluable and lively. Nine roundtables were led by experts from Global Affairs Canada, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Bloom Burton venture capital funder, Ontario Centres of Excellence, Ryerson Biomedica Zone's clinical validation expert, Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP), Mackenzie Innovation Institute (Mi²), Bereskin and Parr Legal/IP experts and Ryerson's university research programs.
MedEdge 2.0 attendees participated in Speed Networking and one-on-one prescheduled meetings with subject matter experts to build strategic connections and gain insights on how to grow their company.
Networking was a key component of MedEdge 2.0, for both attendees and exhibitors. Richmond Hill based Cheelcare and IdeaCuria, and organizations such as Mackenzie Health Hospital, Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation, Centennial College, Seneca, Ontario Centres of Excellence, BDC and Canadian Healthcare Technology were just a sample of those exhibiting.
