Statement from Acting Mayor DiPaola
With the province announcing a four-week shutdown starting Saturday morning at 12:01 a.m., I want to encourage our community to continue to be vigilant about following the recommended community safety protocols to stop the spread of COVID-19 and the variants that are very concerning. Now more than ever we need to protect ourselves and each other to give the vaccination efforts a chance to get ahead.
As before, I ask that you do what you can to support our local businesses and restaurants, as they are strongly impacted by the shutdowns.
I know it’s difficult to continue to stay apart from loved ones, but the safest way to celebrate Easter or Passover is to do so virtually or within your own household. As we continue to battle this pandemic, I truly believe that our strong Richmond Hill community is up to the challenge.
Look after each other, and stay safe.
Joe DiPaola
Acting Mayor, Richmond Hill
