Statement from Mayor Barrow Condemning Racist Graffiti
It has come to my attention that racist graffiti was found in Richmond Hill.
I am appalled and angry to hear of this happening in our great City. This racist and hateful behaviour will not be tolerated in Richmond Hill.
I know our community to be one that is safe and welcoming to all. Embracing our differences is what makes our City stronger and more vibrant. These despicable acts do not reflect our community or the people who live here.
I look to our partners at York Regional Police to take appropriate action to address this situation. I encourage our residents to continue to speak up if you see or hear something that does not reflect Richmond Hill’s true heart as an inclusive community.
There is no room for racism in Richmond Hill. There is no room for hatred.
