York Region Media Group has published an article regarding serious and troubling allegations expressed by a former staff member.

We take our responsibility to protect the health and safety of City staff seriously. Council adopted a Council Code of Conduct and appointed an Integrity Commissioner to review complaints related to the Code of Conduct. Those complaints are confidential and Council is only made aware when the Integrity Commissioner brings forward a public report on a Council agenda.

The City and Council are aware of the claim referenced in the article and will be defending it in due course. As this is a legal matter, it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this time.
