Just as it takes all of us to make a difference in the fight against COVID-19, it takes awareness and effort from all of us to end racism and intolerance.

The pandemic has been a test of our personal and community resilience, as well as our patience. And although it has caused anxiety and stress for all of us, there is no excuse for racism or acts of intolerance in our community.

Our diversity is one of our sources of strength as a community. We must continue to stand together, always, against racism. The same way we continue to stand together to fight COVID-19.  

Vaccine eligibility is continuing to expand, bringing signs of hope for the future. I encourage you to get a vaccine as soon as you’re eligible. Until then, please continue following all health and safety protocols, take care of yourself and support each other. Thank you for continuing to be the kind and welcoming community I know Richmond Hill to be.
