As a city, we take pride in our diversity. It is one of the things I love most about Richmond Hill. And it’s why I am not only saddened, but also deeply disappointed by incidents of intolerance, including any hate-motivated vandalism, in our community. 

We do not tolerate racist, anti-Semitic or other hateful behaviour in our city. We stand together – united against cowardly acts of bias and hatred. These despicable incidents do not reflect our community or the people who live here.

Inclusion and diversity continue to be a source of strength for Richmond Hill and I encourage you to speak up if you hear or see something that does not reflect these values.

Thank you to our City staff and York Regional Police for working together to quickly respond to our community’s concerns and thank you to everyone for helping keep Richmond Hill a safe, welcoming place for all.
