Update on City Closures in Response to Further Provincial COVID-19 Restrictions
RICHMOND HILL – Last Friday, the Ontario government extended the province-wide stay-at-home order by two weeks until May 20 and announced further public health measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and relieve mounting pressures on the health care system. As a result, residents should be aware of the following:
- Many Richmond Hill park amenities are closed until further notice. This includes basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, skate parks, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, outdoor fitness equipment and picnic tables/areas.
Gathering limits
- Indoor organized public events and social gatherings are not allowed, except with members of the same household.
- Outdoor gatherings are limited to members of your own household.
- Individuals who live alone and single parents may consider having exclusive, close contact with another household to help reduce the negative impacts of social isolation.
Enforcement
Community Standards Officers are patrolling the city to enforce provincial COVID-19 regulations and any resident and/or business not in compliance could be fined.
