Notice of Commencement – Environmental Assessment
Study Overview
The Town of Richmond Hill has initiated an update to the Urban Master Environmental Servicing Plan (UMESP) in support of the Town’s Official Plan. The Town has retained Civica Infrastructure to complete the study and is intended to verify and update the proposed municipal water and wastewater infrastructure improvements required to support the Town’s planned growth and intensification.
The Process
This study is being carried out under the requirements set out in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for a Master Plan Class EA. The MCEA process provides member of the public and interest groups with opportunities to provide input at key stages of the study.
The study will define the problem, develop and evaluate alternative solutions, assess impacts of the preferred solutions, identify measures to minimize any adverse impacts, and provide opportunities for public and stakeholder input, to identify recommended preferred solution(s).
Public Consultation
Members of the public, agencies and other interested parties are encouraged to participate in the EA process by attending public consultation opportunities or contacting the study team directly with information, comments or questions.
