Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and cozy up with your family and friends and watch Coco!

Coco (Release date: November 22, 2017)
In Disney Pixar's vibrant tale of family, fun and adventure, an aspiring young musician named Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) embarks on an extraordinary journey to the magical land of his ancestors. There, the charming trickster Héctor (voice of Gael Garci´a Bernal) becomes an unexpected friend who helps Miguel uncover the mysteries behind his family's stories and traditions.

With representation from cultures from all over the world, this pavilion has something for everyone to explore! Groups from near and far will showcase artifacts, clothing, photos and historical relics from their native country.

Show off your competitive spirit and participate in various contests to win some great prizes! To learn more about the various contests and to pre-register, complete the Contest Registration Form before Wednesday, September 19.
To register at the festival, visit the Contest Registration booth on Sunday, September 23 inside the Activity Pavilion (Agricultural #2 Building) a minimum of 30 minutes prior to each contest.

Chef Michael, also known as Chef Michael G, is an academic scholar who discovered a true passion for the Culinary Arts. This was further deepened after he was selected to compete on one of Canada’s top reality cooking shows. Michael was in pursuit of a PhD in Computational Science at the University of Guelph when he realized that his love of food could translate into a career for a lifetime of happiness.


Motus O Dance Theatre – From Fair & Wide, O Canada

From Fair & Wide, O Canada reveals how fairs and festivals began in Canada and the significant impact they have made throughout our country over the centuries. Motus O combines dance, music, and narrative in this colourfully vibrant, entertaining, and educational celebration of how fairs and festivals have shaped our great Canadian history.


Tribal Vision Dance

“Yamo! Yamo!” (“Hello! How are you doing!” in Baoulé) from the charismatic ambassador of West African culture! In this dynamic and interactive performance, Fana Soro, a hereditary master musician of the Senoufo people, shares the musical traditions of his home country to showcase the soaring melodies, driving rhythms and spirited dances of ancient West African performing arts.

Q: Where is the park located?
A: Richmond Green Park is located at 1300 Elgin Mills Road East at the northwest corner of Leslie Street and Elgin Mills Road, west of Highway 404. The main entrance and parking lots are accessible from Elgin Mills Road with a secondary entrance located off of Leslie Street from William F. Bell Parkway.

Q: What are the dates and times of the event?
A: Saturday, September 22, 6 – 9 p.m. and Sunday, September 23, 12 – 6 p.m.

Q: Can I bring my dog or other pets?
A: Yes, pets are welcome on the grounds of Richmond Green Park. Please refrain from bringing pets into the food and beverage concession area.

Q: Can I bring a cooler or outside food?
A: Yes, Richmond Green Park is an open park and you may bring your own food or beverage. However, patrons cannot sell food or beverages to festival patrons.

Q: Is there an ATM on-site?
A: Yes, there is an ATM located inside the Richmond Green Sports Centre.

Q: What is the cost of admission?
A: Admission to the festival is free. Fees may apply to vendors and/or exhibitors at their discretion.

Q: Where can I park?
A: There are several parking lots available onsite for public parking. Parking attendants will be on-site to help direct traffic to those parking lots. 

Q: Can I ride my bicycle to the event?
A: Festival patrons are encouraged to attend the festival by foot or pedal. Limited bicycle racks are available near the entrance of the Richmond Green Sports Centre.

Q: Does the festival close if it rains?
A: The festival will continue rain or shine. In case of extreme weather where safety is of concern, patrons will be asked to exit the park.

Q: Is this a food festival?
A: Tastes of the Hill began as a food festival and has now evolved to including a wide variety of cultural activities and entertainment.

Event Fees

Admission is free. Fees may apply to some activities, vendors and exhibitors. 

Safety

Richmond Hill is not responsible for injuries, damage or loss to persons or property, during festivals and events. The use of some facilities and rides are restricted by age and/or height for our guests' safety. We ensure the safety of everyone attending Richmond Hill festivals and events by not allowing people with fireworks of any kind (including sparklers), weapons, alcohol or illegal substances into the event are.

Additional information

Richmond Hill will photograph and record the event for promotional purposes.
