City of Richmond Hill Declares Significant Weather Event
Freezing rain could cause icy conditions, power outages and tree damage
RICHMOND HILL – The City of Richmond Hill has declared a Significant Weather Event in response to a freezing rain warning issued by Environment Canada.
A mix of rain and freezing rain is expected late Friday evening through Sunday. Possible ice accumulation could lead to slippery roads and sidewalks, power outages and downed or damaged trees. Residents are encouraged to take extra care when driving or walking.
Winter Maintenance Operations
Road and sidewalk salting operations will take place throughout the weekend as icy weather conditions dictate. Please keep roads and sidewalks clear of parked cars.
