Join Us for Free Events Happening Now through October 16 in Richmond Hill
RICHMOND HILL – The City of Richmond Hill and the Richmond Hill Public Library invite you to take part in Culture Days, a national celebration of arts and culture, on now until October 16. Join us for an array of barrier-free events throughout the city as we celebrate arts, culture and creativity!
The three-week festival celebrates the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators and designers. Events include art exhibits, city tours, workshops and demonstrations that bring the diversity, culture and spirit of our community to life.
What’s On
- 2022 Art Walk – September 24, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Explore the outdoor art exhibits in the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts outdoor plaza and south parking lot. - Tour a National Historic Site – September 25, 1-5 p.m.
Drop by the Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory, the City’s very own national historic site, for a self-guided tour of the Administration Building and the Observatory Dome.
- Blues Night – September 29, 5-8 p.m.
Listen to the music of Fraser Melvin and Camilo Restrepo in the outdoor plaza of the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. - The Story of Nikis – September 30, 7-9 p.m.
Join us for a free event at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Hear Dr. Brenda Wastasecoot speak to the impacts of the Residential School policy by sharing stories from a memory map of her childhood home in the 1960s.
- Culture Days at the Library – October 15, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Drop by Richmond Hill Public Library’s Central branch for live demonstrations by artists and weavers, musical performances and the opportunity to try your hand at a new craft. Find full details at rhpl.ca/culturedays.

Take advantage of the City’s Museum of the Streets with a free self-guided tour of some of our community’s most interesting heritage sites. You can choose how many stops you visit and how much time you spend at each one.
