The EV Charging Strategy will define the City’s role in supporting the shift to electric mobility and guide the rollout of charge stations for EVs and consider charging recommendations for e-bikes and e-scooters. The development of a public charge station network aims to reduce emissions from personal vehicles, the dominant mode of travel in Richmond Hill today.
QUICK FACTS
- The EV Charging Strategy is a key recommendation of the Community and Energy Emissions Plan (CEEP), which targets net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Transportation is the City’s largest greenhouse gas source, and the CEEP identifies the development of a public charge station network as an effective way to support the shift towards low-emission transportation.
