Richmond Hill wants you to join the discussion on February 4
Richmond Hill – The City is asking for your feedback to help inform the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Strategy, which will consider how EV and micromobility charge stations should be implemented and where they should be located in Richmond Hill.
Public Information Centre – Have Your Say!
Date: Tuesday, February 4
Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
Location: Bayview Hill Community Centre, 114 Spadina Road
You are invited to participate in the discussion and learn more about the Strategy. More information is available at RichmondHill.ca/ElectricVehicles.
The EV Charging Strategy will inform the City’s approach to providing electric vehicle and micromobility charge stations at City-owned facilities, such as municipal buildings, parks, community centres, libraries, neighbourhood street parking and more. The Strategy will help define the role the City will play in supporting the shift to electric mobility, with a particular emphasis on outlining a plan for EV and micromobility charge stations across the city. The development of a public charge station network aims to reduce emissions associated with the personal vehicle, the most prominent form of travel in Richmond Hill today.

QUICK FACTS
- The EV Charging Strategy is a key outcome of the Community and Energy Emissions Plan (CEEP), which targets net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Since transportation is the City’s largest greenhouse gas source, the CEEP identifies the development of a public charge station network as an effective way to support the shift towards low-emissions transportation.
- The Transportation Master Plan also recognizes the importance of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and recommends the development of the EV Charging Strategy.
