Online survey open to all GTA residents until March 15

RICHMOND HILL – The City of Richmond Hill has launched a survey to get input from current and potential future residents about parking space requirements for new developments.

As part of Council’s priority to balance growth and green, and to prioritize ease of movement around the City, Richmond Hill is working on a Parking and Transportation Demand Management Strategy to promote and support progressive and sustainable forms of development.

The online survey is available at RichmondHill.ca/ParkingStrategy until March 15 and respondents will be entered in a draw for a chance to win a $25 gift card.

Feedback will help inform decisions about effective parking management practices for Richmond Hill that ensure appropriate parking supplies promote sustainable transportation choices and help to reduce car dependency.

When complete, the Parking and Transportation Demand Management Strategy will align development policy with the City’s vision of building a new form of urban, affordable and transit-oriented community, which will help Richmond Hill continue to be a community of choice for years to come.

• The Parking and Transportation Demand Management Strategy will be an update to the 2010 Parking Strategy – Draft Report.
• The Parking and Transportation Demand Management Strategy is intended to recommend standards, guidance and input into the City’s ongoing Comprehensive Zoning By-Law Review, the Transportation Master Plan Update, as well as the City’s Official Plan Update and related Secondary Plans.
