From the September 11, 2017 meetingRichmond Hill Donates $50,000 to Support AccessibilityCouncil approved a grant request from the Richmond Hill Mobility Accessibility Foundation in the amount of $50,000 to support mobility initiatives in Richmond Hill. The grant is funded from the Disabled Parking Reserve, which was established in December 2004, and is funded from 50 per cent of the revenue from disabled parking offences. Temporary Closure - Weldrick Road between Church and Essex

Please be advised that Weldrick Road will be closed between Church Street South and Essex Avenue on Thursday, August 24 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The closure is to facilitate CN track repairs. Access will be maintained for local traffic on either side of the tracks. However, the rail crossing will be closed to vehicular traffic.

RICHMOND HILL – The Richmond Hill Sports Hall of Fame released the names of the seven new inductees: former Olympian and current director of the York Region Skating Academy, Tracey Wainman (Figure Skating), Mary Anne Palmer (SloPitch/Softball), Jamie Joslin (Ice Hockey), Scott Mabley (Ice Hockey), Peter Pendli (Soccer), Gianni Facchini (Soccer) and Bill Woloski (Power Skating & Ice Hockey).

Richmond Hill is resurfacing the following parking lots. The parking lots will be closed on the dates noted. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience and residents are encouraged to exercise caution around construction activities and equipment.

Council approved a new Community Garden Policy due to the ever-growing demand for community gardens within Richmond Hill. The Policy provides consistent support and delivery of new and existing community gardens by setting guidelines and service levels and identifying responsibilities.
