Property Tax Billings
Richmond Hill now accepts credit card payments for property taxes. With this option, the company that processes the payment will collect a 2.5% service fee. Visit our credit card payment page to access this option. To learn more about credit card payments please view our Payment Options page.
Interim tax bills
Richmond Hill issues two tax bills per year. The interim tax bills are mailed in January of each year with instalments due in March and May. The interim bill is based on 50% of the previous year's annualized taxes and is shown as a reduction on the final bill. If you own a residential property and need to determine your annualized taxes for the previous year you can use our Residential Tax Calculator. You will need your Property Assessment Notice from MPAC for your property's assessment value.
Residential final tax bills
Your final tax bill is sent to you in June with instalments due in August and October.
Non-residential final tax bills
The final non-residential tax bills are mailed in August with instalments due in October and November.
It is important for property owners to ensure they receive their property tax bills and pay them on time. Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a taxpayer from responsibility for payment or relieve the owner of liability for the penalty and interest due to late payment. Please ensure that Revenue Services has your correct mailing address.
