Social media is an effective (and FREE!) tool for both employers and employees. In addition to other recruitment efforts, don't forget to make your job opportunity prominent on social media and start connecting to potential employees in real time.
If you don't have one already, set up a "Careers" page on your company website and make sure it is kept up-to-date. Assign someone on your team to make sure new postings are added as soon as a position becomes available and remove any expired positions after the role has been filled.
Online Employment Sites
Posting a job on popular job boards like Monster, Workopolis or Eluta are great tools to garner exposure in an area where a pool of applicants is vast and ever-changing. If you want to target a particular sector, look to specialized job search sites who aim to connect employers with talent in a specific industry.

Posting a Job on York Region's LinkedIn Page
York Region's Invest in York LinkedIn page is open to any company in the Region who would like to advertise a job. Simply click on "Start a conversation with your group" and then click on "Share a Job". It doesn't cost anything and you don't even need your own company LinkedIn page (although it is a good idea to get one if you don't already) as the job posting can link to any online source.
