If you want to widen your driveway or add a second entrance (circular driveway), you must apply to the City of Richmond Hill to have this work approved and completed. Only City staff and authorized contractors are permitted to alter City-owned curbs.

All curb cut application requests are subject to property standards bylaws 117-08 and 84-03. All approvals are dependent on property size, distance from City-owned trees and any above ground City or Public Utility-owned furniture and equipment.

All curb cut applications will be inspected by City staff for compliance before approval. If your application does not meet the criteria upon inspection, it will not be approved. If your application does meet the criteria, the City will issue the curb cut to be performed once the fee is collected.

Curb cut service is provided from May to November.
