Sport Champion Athlete, Official or Team

To be eligible, achievements must have occurred between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

• Placed first in a provincial championship; or
• Placed first in a national or international championship; or
• Placed first in the highest level of competition that their sport allows, according to their sport governing body.

Athletes, Officials or Teams must also:

• Be a residents of Richmond Hill, or
• Represent Richmond Hill when competing in their sport

Officials must have:

• Been selected to officiate at a provincial, national, or international championship event in 2025.

Additional Requirements:

• Recipients may only win a Sport Champion Award once every three years.
• Team nominations must include a full roster with names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

Champion Coach Award

Nominees must:

• Have a minimum of 10 years of coaching experience.
• Be a Richmond Hill resident or be affiliated with a Richmond Hill sport organization, or train athletes/teams representing Richmond Hill.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to coaching education (e.g., course instruction, resource development, committee involvement, professional development).
• Contribute to the broader sport community beyond coaching—such as mentoring other coaches, supporting underrepresented groups, or developing new training or competition methods.

Nomination Requirements

1. Completed Nomination Form
2. Brief biography (max. 250 words)
• Athletes/Officials/Teams: sport history and details of the 2025 achievement
• Coaches: coaching history and accomplishments
3. Team roster (for team nominations): names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails
4. Two letters of reference
5. High‑resolution digital headshot (or team photo)
6. Supporting materials (optional): articles, photos, awards, testimonials, etc.

• Incomplete nomination packages will not be accepted.

All nominations are reviewed by the RHSHF Sport Award Review Committee, composed of Sports Hall of Fame Committee members and staff. Final approval is granted by the RHSHF Committee. Both nominators and nominees will be notified once decisions are made.
