Drop Off Your Waste
Waste depots are operated by York Region. You can drop off your waste at a depot when:
- You want to dispose of items not collected at your residence/curb/etc.
- You have too much material to set out on your collection day
- You don't want to hold on to material until your next collection day
- You missed your collection day
Please note there is also a fee for dropping off regular garbage.
Some items are only accepted at specific waste drop-off depots. These items require special handling and include:
- Hazardous waste
- Electronics
- Cooking oil
- Tires
- Reusable items
Elgin Mills Community Environmental Centre
New entrance: Please be advised that the entrance to the Elgin Mills CEC has moved to John McCrae Street just west of the Richmond Hill Operations Centre. The new entrance will provide more queueing space and reduce traffic congestion.
Residents can conveniently drop off certain materials, including, textiles, recycling, building materials, appliances and metal goods at the Elgin Mills Community Environmental Centre (CEC).
